DDos Attack

Bluesky was the target of a sophisticated Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack last week.

Reports of problems first came in early on Wednesday and continued until late on Thursday night.

You can keep tabs on all the Bluesky services via their public status page:

Things have remained stable since, but as always, this is an important reminder that we must continue to push forward with decentralization. To be less reliant on a single provider.

Providers like Blacksky remained operational during the attack.

Alternative applications, such as Skeets, started to implement provider (AppView) switching.
